What obstacles do people with mental health needs face in wanting to stop being a NEET (person not involved in study, work or training) and enter education, vocational training or labour market? Do mental health and career guidance professionals have the right tools to support them?

From these questions comes the project Work4Psy – An innovative model for career counselling services to Mental Health NEETs aimed at developing innovative tools for educational and vocational counselling and guidance of young NEETs with mental health needs.

During the three years of the project, we will develop:

  • Literature Review Report on work and education integration of NEETs, people with mental health issues and MH NEETs in the partner countries;
  • European Career Counselling Mental Health NEETs Toolkit;
  • European Work and Education Integration Curriculum for MH NEETs;

All resources and tools will be available for free on an Open Learning Platform.

One of the most innovative features of the project is the direct involvement not only of young people with mental health needs but also of:

  • mental health professionals,
  • career guidance counsellors and
  • informal carers.

These people will contribute to a specific analysis of their needs and afterwards to the development of specific tools to facilitate Vocational Guidance and a Training Curriculum for educational and work inclusion.
