DESCRIPTION:\nSchools can play a leading role in the transition towards a more sustainable society: integrating sustainability into education means providing the younger generation with the tools and awareness they need to tackle the environmental and social challenges of the future.\n\n\n\nAs part of UpSpace, we look forward to welcoming you online to our two Social Cafés, ‘Schools and sustainability: ideas and strategies for change’, offering an opportunity for discussion between teachers, industry experts and policy-makers on education for sustainability.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThursday 5 and 12 November 2026 | from 16:00 to 16:40\n\n\n\nOnline – Zoom\n\n\n\nFree event with limited spots available\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBoth events will provide an ideal opportunity to share experiences and proposals and to promote the greater integration of environmental sustainability education into the school system, drawing the attention of the relevant institutions to the needs and conditions required to support schools at national and European level.\n\n\n\nThe ideas gathered during the two editions of the Social Café will contribute to the drafting of the ‘Policy Recommendations for Education for Sustainable Development’, which aim to set out strategies and priorities for greater integration of sustainability into the education system.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\n16:00 – 16:05 | Welcome and introduction – Presentation of the meeting and its objectives\n\n\n\n16:05 – 16:25 | What needs to change? – Guided discussion on the main challenges in integrating sustainability into education\n\n\n\n16:25 – 16:35 | From discussion to priorities – Identification of the most relevant recommendations\n\n\n\n16:35 – 16:40 | Conclusions – Summary of the key messages that emerged\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy participate?\n\n\n\nThe Social Café – in both editions – will be an informal and participatory space for:\n\n\n\n\nsharing experiences and perspectives on education for sustainability;\n\n\n\nexploring the main challenges and priorities at national and European level;\n\n\n\ncontributing to the formulation of policy recommendations for integrating sustainability into education;\n\n\n\nengaging in dialogue with teachers, experts, policy-makers and stakeholders in the sector.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout UpSpace\n\n\n\nUpSpace is co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme, KA220-SCH – Cooperation partnerships in the field of school education.\n\n\n\nThe project aims to promote the inclusion of sustainable development in secondary school curricula and to train pupils and teachers in lower and upper secondary schools in the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPartners\n\n\n\n\nCESIE (Italy, coordinator)\n\n\n\nAppworks Doo Beograd (Serbia)\n\n\n\nStimmuli For Social Change O.E (Greece)\n\n\n\nBlended Learning Institutions Cooperative (Germany)\n\n\n\nIstituto di Istruzione Superiore "Duca Abruzzi-Einaudi-Pareto" (Italy)\n\n\n\nOsnovna Skola "Mihailo Petrovic Alas" (Serbia)\n\n\n\n5o Gymnasio Thessalonikis (Greece)\n\n\n\nFörderverein RUZ Reinhausen e.V.
