SUMMARY:Know your rights – free sessions about work, rights and protection
DESCRIPTION:\nTraining for people with a migrant background\n\n\n\nHaving clear information about work, the law, documents and your rights can make the difference between a decent job and a situation of exploitation.\n\n\n\nFor this reason, a series of free sessions aimed at people with a migrant background is launching in Palermo, promoted by the European HOST project, CESIE ETS and ANCI Sicilia in collaboration with CGIL Palermo.\n\n\n\nThe sessions will take place at the CGIL Chamber of Labour in Palermo and will address practical issues closely linked to people’s daily needs, such as:\n\n\n\n\nresidence and work permits\n\n\n\nrights even without documents\n\n\n\nfair pay and working conditions\n\n\n\nhealth and safety at work\n\n\n\nrecognising the signs of labour exploitation.\n\n\n\n\nThe aim is to provide a safe and accessible space where people can receive practical information, consult with experts and raise awareness of their rights.\n\n\n\nKnowing one’s rights is, in fact, a fundamental tool for protection, autonomy and prevention, as a lack of information often exposes people to risks of abuse, precariousness and exploitation.\n\n\n\nThe initiative aims to make a tangible contribution to strengthening the local community by promoting greater awareness, social inclusion and access to rights for everyone. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhere and when\n\n\n\nCamera del Lavoro CGIL – Via Giovanni Meli 5, 90133 Palermo\n\n\n\nFrom 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSchedule of meetings\n\n\n\n\nFriday 5 June 2026 | Residence and work permits: what you need to know to be in compliance\n\n\n\nThursday 11 June 2026 | How much should I be paid?
