SUMMARY:Technology at the Service of Educational Innovation: Join the Final Event of iLikeIT2
DESCRIPTION:\nStudent engagement is a common challenge for educators, teachers and professors at all levels of education. Lack of interest, distraction, learning differences, and teaching approaches with minimal active participation and lacking discussion and debate times are common issues.\n\n\n\nAmong the key opportunities to address these challenges, educational technology (EdTech) and collaborative work have proven effective. Collaborative work has the advantage of enhancing social skills; new technologies, when used correctly, can increase engagement and motivation in the classroom, improve peer learning, and offer teachers the opportunity for immediate feedback and timely corrections within the group. Interactivity can be promoted by tools, applications, and educational games that can make lessons stimulating and practical and allow for collaborative projects even at a distance.\n\n\n\nThe COVID-19 pandemic has redefined many educational practices, accelerating the adoption of hybrid and online learning methods. The use of educational technologies in schools, training institutes, and universities has become even more critical to provide students with the skills required by society and the workforce and the knowledge to live in a context where the digital plays an increasingly central role. Digital skills statistics demonstrate that currently only 53.9% of citizens in Europe can perform basic digital tasks such as connecting to a Wi-Fi network or using websites, compared to the European Commission's target of 80% by 2030.\n\n\n\nCESIE is organizing an event to present the results of iLikeIT2, a project aimed to contribute to a greater diversification of educational methodologies by exploring the potential of new technologies for collaboration and active student engagement, encouraging educational institutions at all levels to adopt student-centered learning.\n\n\n\nDuring the event, we will share knowledge, experiences, and ideas on the use of new technologies as support for designing and evaluating the learning/teaching process. The Edu-social Algorithm project by Alessio Castiglione, based on the use of smartphones and social media for educational purposes, will also be presented.\n\n\n\nParticipation offers numerous benefits, including professional updates on the latest educational and technological trends, knowledge exchange, inspiration for innovative teaching approaches at all levels. Networking during the event fosters collaboration among professionals in the education and training sectors, actively contributing to meaningful connections and promoting educational innovation.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent information\n\n\n\nWhen: Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 5:30 PM.
