SUMMARY:The third Green League sports event: Slack line – Balance your body
DESCRIPTION:\nPlaying sports in nature is a unique opportunity to reflect on the importance of protecting the environment, but also to explore new interests and make friends. Green League offers you the opportunity to participate for free in 8 sports events related to the four natural elements – earth, air, fire, water.\n\n\n\nAfter Dragon Boat – Between sea and oar and SUP (Stand Up Paddle) – Surfing the world, is the turn of Slack line – Balance your body, the third Green League sports event to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28.\n\n\n\nSlack Line is a balance sport and differs from the art of tightrope walking in a few respects: you walk on a flat webbing and not on a cable or rope, and it does not involve the use of a barbell. In addition, it is a recently popular discipline, as it originated in the United States in the early 1980s.\n\n\n\nA unique aspect of Slack Line is that the type of webbing, its length and tension can vary, thus increasing or decreasing the difficulty of the exercise. It is usually tied to two trees in parks, then tensioned and prepared for athletes who will take turns trying to balance on it. This is exactly what we are going to do!\n\n\n\nDuring the event, in fact you will learn the basic techniques of slack line and experience your first suspended steps. An experienced instructor of the sport will be present and will explain everything to you.\n\n\n\nWe will try the sport outdoors and end the event with a reflection about the natural environment that has been our host all along: the air!\n\n\n\nAre you ready to balance walking on a strip of fabric stretched between two points?\n\n\n\nPlaces are limited, hurry up and sign up!\n\n\n\nLogistical information\n\n\n\nMeeting point: Foro Italico Park, Palermo - see here for precise directions: https://maps.app.goo.gl/SpJQAMoJ2qKnBGHn8.\n\n\n\nDate: Tuesday 28th October\n\n\n\nTime: 2.00 p.m.\n\n\n\nActivity duration: approximately 2 and a half hours\n\n\n\nComfortable clothing is necessary. We also recommend bringing sun cream, a hat and sunglasses.\n\n\n\nWho can participate and how to register\n\n\n\nThe event is open and free of charge. People between the ages of 13 and 30 and their families can participate. No experience in the various sports is required.\n\n\n\nSports events are limited in number. Therefore, it is necessary to fill out the pre-registration form, which will remain open while places last.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPreregister here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOnce you have completed your pre-registration, a few days before the event you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your participation and will be sent some useful information.\n\n\n\nWant to be updated on upcoming sporting events?\n\n\n\nTo be the first to receive the dates, locations and times of the next 6 in-kind sporting events, write to Giulia Siino: giulia.siino@cesie.org ( mailto:giulia.siino@cesie.org ), and you will receive an e-mail for each new event!\n\n\n\nThe other sporting events scheduled for November and December\n\n\n\nExact dates will be published a few days before the event. Stay updated by following this article or our social channels!\n\n\n\nDon’t miss these unique opportunities to explore nature, try new sports and meet lots of people!\n\n\n\nScheduled sports include beach volleyball, archery, orienteering, rock climbing, slackline, and hiking. Stay tuned for upcoming dates!\n\n\n\nAbout the project\n\n\n\nGreen League – Sport alliance for the environment is a project funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme – cooperation partnership – sport – that aims to improve the link between sport and the environment through experiential learning, promoting outdoor physical activity as a tool for environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable practices in sport.\n\n\n\nPartners\n\n\n\n\nCESIE (Italy, coordinator)\n\n\n\nVivi Sano Onlus (Italy)\n\n\n\nZAVOD APGA (Slovenia)\n\n\n\nKMOP, KENTRO MERIMNAS OIKOGENEIAS KAI PAIDIOU (Greece)\n\n\n\nEINURD (Iceland)\n\n\n\nCARDET, CARDET CENTRE FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT IN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY LIMITED (Cyprus)\n\n\n\nOTB, OUT OF THE BOX INTERNATIONAL (Belgium)\n\n\n\n\nFor further information\n\n\n\nRead more about Green League, visit the website https://green-league.eu/ and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.\n\n\n\nContact Giulia Siino: giulia.siino@cesie.org ( mailto:giulia.siino@cesie.org ).\n
