YouthMetre – a tool for forward looking youth participation it is a project that has as main objective to encourage young people in participate more actively in European policies and the same time to support public authorities in designing and implementing effective youth policies and initiatives.

SMART: preparation of the training module and handbook for teachers

SMART – Second Chance Schools working with systematic measurement of outcomes is a two-year project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2 Strategic Partnership for Adult Education. The project aims to develop a quality framework, for use by providers of second chance education that will address the gaps, in order to help them evidence their success factors, enhancing the quality and relevance of learning offers in education, training and youth work. The project involves 7 partners from Denmark, Ireland, Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands, representing University, Second chance schools, regional authorities and civil society organisations, who are cooperating in order to create a quality measurement system for second chance education and providers of non-formal and informal learning.

TTRAIN: New Training Curriculum for the Tourism Sector

On 8 and 9 February 2016 the TTRAIN project partners met in Vienna to compare and discuss the results of the Gap Analysis on existing training and training needs in the tourism sector in Austria, Finland, Iceland and Italy. For their respective country reports, the partner organisations analysed in the past months studies and statistics on the state of the art of the tourism sector. In addition, experts from tourism companies were interviewed to better understand their needs and preferences concerning vocational training.

Representatives of CESIE attended the kick-off meeting of the project TEDDIP’Europe (co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2 – Strategic Partnerships in the field of Youth) that took place in Perpignan, France on 19th and 20th of January, 2016.

The project aims to help to ingrate minors with an intellectual disability into the community-based support structures in line with the Recommendation of the Committee of Ministers of Council of Europe CM/Rec(2010)2 to member states on deinstitutionalisation and community living of children with disabilities.

POLYGLOT: pilot testing with parents, children and kindergartens

The 3rd partner meeting of the project POLYGLOT – Multilingual education in preschool age was held in Badajoz, Spain, on February 4th and 5th 2016, hosted by Baby Erasmus.

POLYGLOT is a three year project which aims to promote language learning from an early age through the use of Open Educational Resources (OERs) on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. The project is coordinated by Kindervilla (Austria) and involves the following partners: First Private School Leonardo Da Vinci (Bulgaria), CESIE (Italy), Baby Erasmus (Spain), İzmir Özel Fatih Koleji İşletmeleri (Turkey), CARDET – Centre For Advancement Of Research And Development In Educational Technology (Cyprus).

As part of the “The more attention, the less problem” project within the Erasmus+ programme KA1: Mobility for learning, a group of 12 Turkish teachers stayed in Palermo, Italy from the 28th of January to the 2nd of February. The group has come to Palermo in order to study the Italian educational system and how it manages the social integration of people coming from disadvantaged communities (disabled people, foreigners, migrants, or persons with special needs) in the schools and in several social centers, so that they can make a comparison with the Turkish system and apply new methodologies back in their own school.

The third partners’ meeting of E2MP Project was hosted by EFM Europejskie in Ziemia Klodzka, Poland on the 21th and 22nd of January 2016. The aim of the project is to bring new skills and knowledges to the Youth workers in the management of European Mobility Projects for young people. All partners of the project from France, United Kingdom, Poland and Italy presented the Modules of the future online Training Course developed over the past months and they have the occasion for further defining and improving them, thanks to mutual comparison and listening.

TEDDIP’Europe: help to ingrate minors with an intellectual disability

The project TEDDIP’Europe aims to help to ingrate minors with an intellectual disability (in French under the syndroms called TED and DIP) into the community-based support structures in line with the Recommendation of the Committee of Ministers of Council of Europe CM/Rec (2010) 2 to member states on deinstitutionalisation and community living of children with disabilities. The project also aims to reinforce professional EU networking and training, to give more value to educators and to provide them with the opportunity to exchange their different working practices and methodologies, to enhance EU citizenship of TEDDIP children and finally to foster the process of integration of young TEDDIP.

On 19th January 2016 CESIE participated in Information Day on Civil Protection, in Brussels, Belgium. It was organised by the European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department in accordance to present the EU work programme for civil protection. More than 50 representatives from national administrations, regional and local authorities, private sector, non-governmental organizations, academies, research institutes participated in this event, creating a network of stakeholders supporting the civil protection.

Italy has done substantial forward steps to fosters the ‘Entrepreneurship Knowledge Triangle’ and to support employability of qualified human capital able to translate Research & Development (R&D) results into commercial opportunities. The number of actors implementing the new employment policies and regulations is indeed growing although many barriers still need to be tackled and conditions aligned to European frameworks to achieve maximum growth impact within the Italian ecosystem.

After the intensive developments to establish a national QA system in higher education of Armenia, the first cycle of institutional accreditations starting from 2009 and pilots of program accreditation in 2015 mark a shift to an advanced level of developments in the IQA of the Armenian HEIs. Invaluable is the contribution of the European Commission, specifically, TEMPUS projects to the system development as well as widening cultural exchange between European and Armenian universities guiding the gradual accumulation of experience in EQA and IQA.

The project will last 2 months, from April to May.

The hosting organization is The Infinite Opportunities Association based in Sofia, Bulgaria. It is an NGO established at the beginning of 2010 that is committed to youth work, active citizenship, promotion of non-formal education and encouraging young people to develop their social and creative potential for a better future for everyone.

The recent discussions of the European countries and the current events regarding the phenomenon of migration make the main topic of this youth exchange unfortunately still present. The exchange will represent an occasion for the participants to discuss about the topic on refugees and the relative problems at the local, regional, national and international level. CESIE is looking for 3 participants from 18 to 25 years, that from 2 to 10 of April, they will have the opportunity to participate in this project with other young people from: Turkey, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Italy, the Netherlands and Austria.

Stand up… for your Med!

Would you like to participate in a project on youth participation in the Mediterranean region? CESIE is looking for 4 young people from 18 to 25 years and 1 youth leader withouth age limit that are interested to participate in a youth exchange which aim is to explore the role of the youth workers. The exchange will take place from 4 to 10 of March in La Marsa, a coastal town in far north eastern Tunisia, with the participation of young people coming from France, Spain, Marocco, Egypt and Tunisia through non formal methods.

GEB (Gesellschaft für Europabildung) is a non-profit organisation that is functioning as an educational-training centre. Their main purpose is education and vocational education, including civic education. Their activity is mainly directed to young people, adults and less privileged people. They are deep believers of the benefits mobility projects represent for the personal development of the European citizen.

When I came back people asked me, what were they doing there? The question left me on a bit of a wrong-foot… what did we used to? We used to live but we were 20 people who lived and grew up together and learned together, and so we were in a remote village in the proximity of Bordeaux, and so often we were at home, but in that house there was the world.
