Internationalising Higher Education: developing policy guidelines & staff resources

The SEHSI project (Regional Sustainable Development on the Basis of Eco-Human Synergetic Interaction) continues its activities with a coordination meeting hold at the Technical University of Vienna on 2nd to 4th of February, 2015.

The program included the monitoring of the development the of RSD e-platform and e-training materials, updates of the content of the study modules, learning and teaching methodology. Dr. sc. Ana Grgić, University of Split (Croatia), presented a preliminary programme of summer workshop for students in Split (July 2015). The programme will be presented by active learning environment based on multidisciplinary and multicultural principals for European and Ukrainian students, supervised by EU experts.

 

Students′ participation in activities of the University-Labor Market Network

More than 20 Armenian students representing Armenian National Students′ Association, Institutional Students′ Organisations in cooperation with EU parner Institutions were debating about different models of the university – business cooperation in EU and Armenia, functions of deparments at Univerisities, such as Career Office, University-market cooperation unit, roles of students and alumni; benefits and problems which stop this cooperation.

Volunteers in Playwork – End of the training of trainers course!

On 15th April 2015 the "Volunteers in Playwork" training of trainers course came to its end, in the framework of the ViPER project, funded by the Lifelong Learning Programme (Training of Innovation action) of the European Commission. The 10 participants were able to attend the course in Italian and to look into depth at topics such as: children's right to play, how play is vital for children's growth and wellbeing, health and safety measures when working with children, how to include all children in a play situation.

STEP_BY_STEP – Commitments for energy saving

Energy savings, citizens' engagement and participation, economic and environmental benefits: these are the key-words and objectives of the project "Step by step commitments for energy saving". The project aims at suggesting and promoting simple daily actions that can produce important energy saving with linked economic benefits. Have you ever thought that do not defrost the freezer will lead to higher energy consumption with a consequent increase of the bill?!


SPAcE – Partners meet to plan first steps to create healthy urban environments

The first partnership meeting for the project "SPAcE – Supporting Policy and Action for Active Environments" was held on 23rd and 24th March 2015 in Cheltenham, UK. The project will link together 10 project partners from 8 different EU countries to achieve the objective of developing sustainable active urban environments in cities and towns across the EU.

Action for Change – In support of domestic violence victims and their children

Victims of domestic violence may sometimes be at risk of having their children removed and taken into care, as they are judged unable to take care of their own children. Domestic abuse is more often than not associated with other factors, such as drug and alcohol addiction, which play a role in the parenting abilities of the group targeted by "Action for Change..

 



FIERE – online the results of the entrepreneurship skills needs analysis survey

The FIERE partnership is now publishing the results of the users' innovative entrepreneurship skills survey, carried out in six European regions between July and October 2014 and aimed at gaining a level of understanding of the entrepreneurial skills and behaviours of employees from public, private, community & enterprise and voluntary sectors.


Europe 50 plus: put into action!

The second international meeting of the project Europe 50 plus was held the 9th and 10th March 2015 in Ostrava (Czech Republic). The meeting was attended by experts in languages, IT and soft skills of the four partner organisations. The 16 experts, 4 for each organization, will work together to develop new strategies and methodologies to stimulate learning of adults over 50.

Media workshop with Eritrean and Ethiopian communities on gender issues

The workshop is involving several members of the Eritrean and Ethiopian communities in Palermo within the project REPLACE 2. The pathway is born after the need emerged during the research phase to investigate different aspects of the nature of men and women, their roles in society and in the family and their ways of interacting.
