CESIE is looking for 8 participants for the Leonardo da Vinci Mobility Project, PLM, co-financed by the European Commission. “Learning By Doing Project” gives to young people, from 18 till 35 years old, the possibility to do an internship of 13 weeks, related to the handicraft sectors in several European Countries. This other announcement – the second one after the announcement of the 19th of July 2013 – has 2 countries as hosting destinations: Greece and Romania.

Eat Smart - Food FairIn Europe, in Asia, elsewhere, culinary cultural heritage is slowly disappearing. Meanwhile, junk food is continuously spreading, just as obesity or other health risks, without mentioning agro-industrial scandals anywhere in the world, and to what extent environmental future is linked to our eating habits.

The Eat Smart project raises awareness about those issues, through a (re)discovery of culinary traditions.

LGBT: Together against discrimination

LGBT: Together against discriminationFrom the 29th of September to the 7th of Octber 2013 the Training Course “LGBT: togehter against discrimination” will take place in Chernivtsi, Ucraina “: more than 30 people coming from Georgia, Czech Republic, Moldavia, Romania, Italy, Spain and Portugal will meet all together to talk about discrimination based on the sexual orientation. This represents an actual topic above all in the East- Europe (near Russia) where there is an exponential increase of the homophobia’s phenomenon. For 9 days and through non-formal activities, discussion forums and meetings with local NGOs, the participants – LGBT activists or youth leader activists in the field – will enhance their active role in their communities to fight against discrimination and homophobia, promoting the social inclusion.

A memorial of love to Favour and Loveth

On September 27th , at 11:00 p.m., in Coritle Barcellona, on the corner of Via Filippo Juvara, and then at the entrance of Parco dell Favorita, next to Viale Rocca, the Mayor of Palermo unveils two plate memorials in honor of Favor and Loveth, two young Nigerian victims of women trafficking. Favor was 20 years old and with the dream to get married with the love she had just begun to live together with, when she was killed by one of her violent clients who, after having raped and murdered her, he also burnt her body before throwing it away in a garbage dump of Misilmeri. Barely two months later, Loveth, same age of Favor, follows the latter in the same tragic fate: was found death, beside the garbage bins, in the centre of Palermo, in Via Filippo Juvara.

Learning by doing: selection’s results for participants of the Leonardo da Vinci program (PLM)

Learning By DoingCESIE – European Centre of Studies and Initiatives –, after having received several applications, is now publishing the results related to the – Learning By Doing- project -LLP Programme Leonardo da Vinci, transnational mobility action(PLM). The project will lead his participants to live an educational experience in the handcraft sector for 13 weeks in one of the following countries: UK, Portugal, Rumania, Greece and France. In the file – download it at the end of this article- you can find the confirmation/renounce participation procedure for the selected candidates, as well as further application modalities for the apt candidates who have not been selected.
