SUNIA GEEL 2 is a European project, Daphne III Programme (DG “Justice”), that aims at providing a framework to reduce domestic violence against women and young people of marginalised ethnic communities (specifically, Sinti and Roma, Muslim migrants and travellers according to partners’ country context).
LION – Learning, lIving, wOrking for NEET-group, is a Grundtvig Multilateral (LLP) project started in December 2012 with the collaboration of 7 different realities working in the field of education and training of NEETs (Not in Employment, Education or Training). These terms indicate people who are not involved in education and training or a job. Through LION, we want to apply a holistic methodology, that is able to simultaneously approach the three basic areas of learning, life and work, with the aim of enhancing the quality of life of this target.
New technologies, in particular social networks, play a very important role in the life of young people, unfortunately also to the point of instigating violence among them. Since the beginning of 2013, CESIE has been working on a new project about the above mentioned topic. STIR (Safeguarding Teenage Intimate Relationships) is a project funded by the Daphne III Programme of the European Commission (DG Justice) and it aims at understanding the existing connection between new technologies and phenomena such as violence, bullying and abuse among young people in Europe.
The EWAC training course was an open space for exchanging ideas, acquisition of new working methods to apply in different contexts to work with young people. It has stimulated active participation in youth and it generated many new project ideas to be developed at Euro-med level. The public report summarise the activities, methods and ideas proposed by participants.
The e-learning course for educators, teachers and trainers working in professional schools, that was already developed in Poland and that will be transferred to Italy and in the other partner countries within the (e)VET2EDU project – Supporting Vocational Teachers And Trainers In E-Learning (Lifelong Learning programme, Action Leonardo Da Vinci – Transfer of Innovation) is almost ready!
The first workshop on marketing and marketability of products created through European projects, held within the DEEP.Com Goes Mobile project (Grundtvig – Accompanying Measures )on July 19th2013 at CESIE was very fruitful. The project aims at supporting managers and coordinators of Grundtvig projects in putting on the market and commercializing products created through European projects.
The Tempus project, MAHATMA – Master in Higher Education Management Developing Leaders For Managing Educational Transformation http://mahatma.am/ provided training for university administrative staff from July 22nd to 26th in Piazza Bologni in Palermo, kindly hosted by the University of Palermo, Department of Law, Society and Sports.
The “The rural leaders of Europe” training course will take place in Bran, Romania, from the 2nd to 9th of September: 29 youngsters from Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldavia will meet for a week to discover new and innovative methodologies to reinforce youngsters of rural areas. The aim is to share and disseminate the potential of European funding schemes and to develop networks for future programmes and local development.
“Voluntary Effect” is the title of the video-documentary created by a group of young people in Palermo and thank to the videomaker Mapi Rizzo. In the video, the stories, the life, the motivation of Alicia, Djack and Mariel, 3 young persons coming from different countries of the world and arrived in Palermo following different routes. Apparently very different stories intersected in the social and voluntary activities, which all of them do every day.
