The kick-off meeting of the project Capacity Building Relay Race – CaBuReRa was held from the 24th to the 26th of March at CESIE. CaBuReRa is developed under the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrumetn (ENPI) and it has a total budget of € 1.680.000,00, 90% of which is funded by the European Union.
The last partner meeting of(e)VET2EDU – Supporting Vocational Teachers and Trainers in e-Learning – a Leonardo TOI project – took place in Split (Croatia) on March 27th and 28th. This meeting has been an important opportunity to present the final results from the e-learning course piloting phase.
The “Spatial Citizenship” project, co-funded by the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP), was presented at the8th International Technology, Education and Development Conference (INTED), organised by the International Academy of Technology, Education and Development (IATED), which was held in Valencia (Spain), on the 10th, 11th and 12th of March, 2014.
Volunteers in Play is a training course for adults who would like to work with children and increase their skills and knowledge on play. Underpinned by art. 31 on the “right to play” of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the course aims at reminding adults of why it is so important that children play and at giving useful guidance on how best to support play.
On March 13th Palermo Local Working Group started Digging Deep project activities. The project is co-funded by European Commission in the framework of Youth in Action Program, action 3.2. CESIE is involved in DDEEP as applicant, along with three partners from three different continents: KID PiNA (Slovenia), CANGO (China) and YEC (Ghana). By developing international and local activities, the project aims at raising awareness towards different issues such as local, sustainable and organic food, respect for nature and intercultural relations.
The project is funded by the European Commission within the framework of Youth in Action Programme, action 3.1. It will involve 40 youth workers from 17 European and EU neighbouring countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Estonia, Russian Federation, France, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine.
Appetite for learning comes with eating. Food as a way to relate women from different social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. ALCE project aims at developing intercultural and intergenerational learning competencies, through a series of group activities designed for acquiring civic and cooking skills.

Formally launched by CISS and CESIE in September 2013, the ROOT project promotes researches, trainings for educators, public awareness campaigns in schools and the creation of a transnational network among origin and transit countries of human trafficking. ROOT’s aim is to eradicate human trafficking connected to sexual exploitation in the prostitution business.
