IN2SAI is an Erasmus multilateral project (Lifelong Learning Programme) with duration of 24 months – from October 2013 to September 2015. The project involves 4 Universities from Spain, Italy, Netherlands and Germany and 3 NGOs from Italy, Portugal and Austria who will work alongside on the increase of participation and interest of female students into the Aeronautic Industry, covering different areas of intervention, starting from general community, educational system to labour market and the companies working in aeronautic sphere.
In last December, a training course named Speakers of Europe was developed in Palermo. It dealt with European citizenship and its promotion through social media. The participants firstly analyzed European issues and citizenship at institutional and personal level. Specific techniques of communication through social media were then presented, as well as the most accurate tools for conceiving and launching campaigns. With this double input, youth/social workers, IT and community managers were asked to shape a voting campaign.
After the 2nd partners meeting of the Tandem Now Project, Lifelong Learning Programme, Leonardo Da Vinci – Transfer of Innovation, held in Bilbao at the end of October, the testing phase of the “Blended Mentoring”, which includes face to face and online meetings between mentors and mentees, begun in Italy and in all partners’ countries (Austria, Irlanda, Turchia, Germany, Spain).
The Open Education Challenge, launched in partnership with the European Commission, is part of Startup Europe. All innovators can submit projects, receive mentoring and seed funding through the European Incubator for Innovation in Education, and get direct access to investors from day one.
Last autumn, the European Voluntary Service project NATURAL (Natural Awareness ThroUgh Active Learning), co-funded by the Youth in Action Programme (action 2), came to an end. The project gave 12 young people from 6 European countries (Austria, Estonia, France, Lithuania, Spain and Hungary) with fewer opportunities the chance to make a volunteering experience at the natural reserve in Serra Guarneri, in the Northern cost of Sicily.
CESIE attended the “Furthering Innovative Entrepreneurial Regions of Europe” kick-off meeting, which was held in Kilkenny (Ireland) on the 6th of February 2014. The project stems from the recognition that there’s a lack in entrepreneurial skills in European regions and that entrepreneurship education to personnel of regional, sub-regional and voluntary organisations could have a hugely beneficial multiplier effect within such regions. The project consortium is composed by seven organisations (one public regional organization, two university institutes, one public-private organization, two private companies and one NGO) from six European countries.
The kick-off meeting of the “Insertion des jeunes défavorisés par l’art [Inclusion of marginalized youngsters through art]” (INSART) project was held on 8-10 January 2014 in Paris, France. The project, involving a Consortium of 5 organizations, will aim at giving better employment chances to young marginalized or migrant people aged 16/25 (the so called “NEET” group: not in education, not in employment, nor in training”).
SUNIA GEEL 2, a project aiming to contribute to the reduction of domestic violence against women and young people with Roma, Muslim and nomadic background, is entering its crucial phase.TheDomestic Violence Response Programme has indeed been opened, and will involve 50 Muslim women overall in 10 meetings. During these meetings, the women involved will be encouraged to share their reflections and experience, if any, related to the issue of domestic violence.
The Training Course Let’s Talk About ICE (Intercultural Citizenship Education) will take place from April 18th to 24th, in the fascinating city of Batman in Turkey. The project addresses the theme of intercultural education and active citizenship for young people. Through discussion groups, workshops to promote youth entrepreneurship and activities proper to non-formal learning, the Training Course highlights the importance of intercultural learning and active citizenship for young people and enhances their role in society.
MOBILE – MOBility In Learning in Europe – is the new CESIE project promoting European work exchange experiences for young people and providing training and support for teachers and enterprises. The aim of the project is to create useful tools to improve the development, implementation and follow up of work experiences across Europe. The MOBILE project will provide better opportunities of personal and professional growth and, especially, will ensure an appropriate training for all the actors involved in mobilities: beneficiaries, teachers and mentors.
